Board members also receive annual supplemental training to support each member’s understanding of their roles and responsibilities as members of the board.

Board Support

Each new Board member is partnered with a Board Mentor for the first six to twelve months of board service. The Board Mentor is available to answer questions and help new members adjust to their Board member role.

Board Facilitator

Board members who need additional supports also have access to a Board Facilitator. Facilitators can:

  • Review meeting agendas with Board members prior to the meeting
  • Help Board members prepare for a meeting
  • Explain agenda items or other board business, before, during and after meetings.

Facilitators personalize their support to help Board members be more comfortable and confident in their role.
