The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) recently sent an April 16, 2020 directive with information on a new training resource section of their web site. The training resources are designed to support residential providers wishing to bring on day program direct service professionals and other displaced staffs affected by COVID-19 who are committed to serving, and have experience supporting, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is being made available at a critical time when access to the Direct Support Professional (DSP) and other training programs are not available to residential providers for their staff.
The DDS has compiled links to training slides, reading materials, videos, and other tools that can be accessed at the Coronavirus Information and Resources section of their web site, under the “Training” tab.
