The Department of Developmental Services (DDS)

The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is part of the California Health and Human Services Agency. DDS provides services and supports for children and adults with developmental disabilities and infants at risk of developmental delay or disability. These services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with twenty-one nonprofit agencies called Regional Centers. In addition, the regional centers are currently providing diagnosis & evaluation services to persons served across the State.
