In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) provides personal care and domestic services to persons who are over age 65, blind, or have a disability and who live in their own homes. IHSS is provided to those who otherwise might be placed in an out-of-home care facility but can safely remain at home if IHSS services are received.
The Lanterman Act requires the use of all other sources of funding and services before the regional center provides services. IHSS is considered one of these sources.
